Summer break & a Hiatus

It’s been way too long since I’ve posted. The end of a school year always takes up majority of my time and I rarely have time to take on anything else. Trying to end a school year, move classrooms, and spending time with family I couldn’t find a balance and something had to give. Unfortunately it was my blog.

Now that summer break is here I can start to post again. I’m currently in New York spending my summer with my Mr. We’ve been apart since October and I wanted to take advantage of my time off. Not to mention, escape from the heat of the valley of the sun! Don’t get me wrong, I love my city…but being able to get away from 100+ degree weather isn’t such a bad thing.

I’ve been here for a week now. The Mr. and I are trying to strategically plan out our weekends since it’s really the only time he has off. On a whim, we went to Lake George yesterday. We originally planned to go to Saratoga Springs (mainly because I love that little town), but we decided to go further north and check out the lake.

The Mr. heard it was a great place to check out, and we couldn’t agree more. Lake George was beautiful! If you’re ever in upstate NY and get a chance to visit, you should. We weren’t prepared for a day at the lake and couldn’t partake in laying out on the beach or taking a dip in the water, but we enjoyed a steamboat cruise and learned some fun facts about Lake George and the gorgeous lake houses that surround it.

Here are some pictures I captured on my iPhone 6. I failed to bring my Nikon (I regret that big time)! Hope you enjoy.

As the saying goes…

“Everything happens for a reason” OR “There’s a reason for everything”

I strongly believe in these sayings. There are times when I can’t seem to find the meaning or the reason why things/events happen in my life, but I also believe that I don’t always have to.  This winter storm hitting the north east is an event that is helping to keep my husband home for a few more days.  Prior to his arrival home from NY, he was told by his boss that he wouldn’t be able to get the week off even after it was approved.  So, there is my silver lining in the wake of this crazy storm (sorry to all those who are out there on that side of our country).

On another note, my journey for becoming a blogger & possibly a “style blogger” is starting to become more of a reality.  This past Christmas my husband bought me my first DSLR camera, perfect for beginner photographers; my Instagram account that I started last year of my daily #ootd is slowly but surely gaining more followers; and I finally took the 1st step to start my own blog.  See…everything happens for a reason!

Stay tuned for my first “Post It Tuesday” tomorrow!

Blessings x Love
