I’ve always been aware of my surroundings. I’ve always had an open mind and have always tried “putting myself in the other persons shoes.” But to be honest, I haven’t always had an open heart to the world-my world-our world.
We are the generation that is responsible for ensuring the next generation and therefore the future generations after them, will have a world to live in that is filled with God’s beauty, God’s wonder, God’s grace, and the humanity that God instilled in all of us.
I know I won’t change over night, and neither will you. But I do know that with each passing day I can take just one more small step in the direction of;
Love. Respect. Kindness. Compassion. Humanity. Selflessness.

I apologize for not having a photo for today’s Post-It Tuesday, but I left the following quotes of inspiration on the desk of a fellow teacher and one on a random car in the parking lot:
“And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.” –Marriane Williamson
“You may not be able to change the world, but you can change someone’s world!” –my thoughts
Think about how one small post-it note can completely change the mood of someone else’s day and join me next week for Post-It Tuesday! I’d love to hear what you wrote and where you randomly/anonymously left it 🙂
I’m finally back home to the sunny skies and warm weather of Arizona!
My New York trip/mini vacation was fun and adventurous. My younger sisters enjoyed themselves, but they were definitely worn out by day 2 of walking around NYC haha. Since it was my second time around, I knew what to expect and I wasn’t suffering as much as they were. Poor things. But, they survived and in the end were glad they got to see and experience “The Big Apple.”
I won’t flood you with the hundreds of photos I took while we went from Albany, to New Jersey, to NYC. Instead, I’ll leave you with a few of my favorites. These were all taken with my Samsung Galaxy S5, because I forgot the battery charger to my Nikon 😦
Anyway, hope you enjoy and have a lovely weekend!

Times Square where love is on 😉
We ended the trip in Saratoga drinking ginger beer at the cutest cafe!

You know the saying, “time flies by…when you’re having fun?” Well, time also flies by when you’re a busy woman with a full-time job as a teacher trying to finish up the end of a quarter! So, I apologize for pretty much falling off the face of the blogging planet, if anyone actually cares/noticed.
Yesterday was my first official day of spring break! Many things/events have gone on since my last post, so today I’m trying to play catch-up. The most exciting event that currently took place in my life was attending my first blogger panel discussion. The panel discussion was open to new bloggers and/or bloggers seeking advice on how to grow their following. I was super nervous and excited all at the same time. I’m so glad I went because I met some really supportive and lovely ladies, as well as learn how some of the most well known bloggers in Arizona juggle the blogging life! I learned some really helpful tips and hope that I can soon start to implement them into my experience with blogging.
Anyway, I’m off to go and pack for a week in NY again! I know, I know…why would anyone in their right mind leave a state with temperatures in the mid 80’s to go to a state of temperatures in the mid 40-50’s?! One reason: My Mr. He’s still out there for work, and instead of spending my spring break alone enjoying the sunny, warm, AZ weather I’m choosing to spend some much needed QT with my Mr.! That’s the secret to our marriage 🙂
I’m hoping I can snap some really great photos with my new Nikon and share them with you all! For now, I’m posting my ootd’s from my Instagram. Follow me on Instagram to find out where my outifits are from! https://instagram.com/thispetitelife/ OR search my Instagram @thispetitelife

It was just another manic Monday! I’m not sure what was “in the water” today, but I’m sure it had something to do with the
rain drizzle we had. The bright side was that I made it to my yoga class tonight and it relieved all that stress and tension from the day.
I don’t want to get into how my day was “bad,” because there are people out there who will always have it worse than I do. So, instead I’ll leave you with my ootd’s that I hadn’t posted in the past few days. Sorry for the overload here!
What is it that helps you get through those “tough” days?

As I reflect on this past week and think about the beginning of a new Lenten season, I am drawn to remember serene places and moments of peace in my life.
The Pope wrote that this Lent season, we should think about “giving up” being indifferent to one another and not just the “norms” like soda, candy, fast food, etc. He explains that Lent is a time to pray, fast, and draw near to God. When I think of these things, my mind drifts away to places I have been when I felt and knew God was there watching over me and making His presence known. Here are a few of those places that I was able to capture in a photo.
Is there anywhere in particular you go to find peace? Hope you enjoy and have a restful weekend!
The gates right outside of a bed & breakfast my Mr. and I went to several years ago in Sedona, AZ.
A view from the garden area
Doesn’t this make you want to sit and read by this garden fountain all day?
Finally, a photo I took of my brother-in-law taking in the awe & beauty of the Grand Canyon. Simply peaceful.
