My Birthday & Anniversary Month!

 My wish list ūüėČ

July is my favorite month of the year! As you can tell by the title of my post…it’s my birthday AND anniversary month! This year my Mr. & I will be celebrating 9 years of marital bliss. We are still very much in love and our friendship continues to grow stronger as each day passes.

A fun fact about me; I don’t like odd numbers unless it’s the numbers 5 or 7. I think of the number 5 as an even number, because you can count by 5’s like you do with even numbers. I know, weird and so very teacher-like. What can I say, I’m a 1st grade teacher ūüėä.  The number 7 we all know is “lucky.” ūüćÄ

Anyhow, my reason for telling you that fun fact is because this year I will be turning 35. I know a woman should never tell their age, but I’m not ashamed of my age. In fact, I am grateful for how many years God has blessed me with to live on His earthly home. Too many people don’t get the chance to live this long and I give thanks for each day I get to wake up and create more memories with my family & friends. Every day is a gift!

Speaking of gifts, my Mr. asks me on every special occasion we celebrate, what I want. My wish list varies each year/occasion. This year, I’d love to receive any of the above pictured goodies!

Summer break & a Hiatus

It’s been way too long since I’ve posted. The end of a school year always takes up majority of my time and I rarely have time to take on anything else. Trying to end a school year, move classrooms, and spending time with family I couldn’t find a balance and something had to give. Unfortunately it was my blog.

Now that summer break is here I can start to post again. I’m currently in New York spending my summer with my Mr. We’ve been apart since October and I wanted to take advantage of my time off. Not to mention, escape from the heat of the valley of the sun! Don’t get me wrong, I love my city…but being able to get away from 100+ degree weather isn’t such a bad thing.

I’ve been here for a week now. The Mr. and I are trying to strategically plan out our weekends since it’s¬†really the only time he has off. On a whim, we went to Lake George yesterday. We originally planned to go to Saratoga Springs (mainly because I love that little town), but we decided to go further north and check out the lake.

The Mr. heard it was a great place¬†to check out, and we couldn’t agree more. Lake George was beautiful! If you’re ever in upstate NY and get a chance to visit, you should. We weren’t prepared for a day at the lake and couldn’t partake in laying out on the beach or taking a dip in the water, but we enjoyed a steamboat cruise and learned some fun facts about Lake George and the gorgeous lake houses that surround it.

Here are some pictures I captured on my iPhone 6. I failed to bring my Nikon (I regret that big time)! Hope you enjoy.

The Season for Rompers

If you haven’t noticed, but the time has come for the season of rompers to begin! ¬†I have been seeing so many fashion bloggers and Instagramers posting some fantastic rompers and have enjoyed seeing how they style them.

I was quite hesitant on the idea of wearing a romper at first, so I knew I didn’t want to invest a whole lot of money if they didn’t work out and fit my body type. ¬†I bought this romper via an Instagram shop, and was pleasantly surprised at 1) how comfortable it is 2) how it fit my body 3) how stylish it was!

I love the colors and the print on this one and felt confident enough to buy another romper. ¬†if you haven’t jumped on to the “romper bandwagon” I suggest going to different stores and trying on a variety of these comfy little numbers. ¬†You might be pleasantly surprised like I was! ¬†I’m still looking for the perfect jumpsuit/full length romper…but I won’t hold my breath since I know how difficult it might be to find one for my fun-sized frame!

So, are you willing to go out and give the romper a try?

Anchors & Mint

I am loving my new custom made anchor skirt by Hannah Everly. Not only does she design and make the most adorable & affordable skirts, she is super sweet! Check out her Etsy store ūüôā

I paired this anchor skirt with my all-time favorite color…mint. I love that both the print and the mint color say “Let’s do this spring!” Fair warning, this outfit will be on repeat during the summer as well.

I picked this outfit for my very first photo shoot with Tiffany Hainsworth. She was a doll to work with and was very patient with me and my inexperience. ¬†Hopefully I didn’t scare her off and she is willing to snap more photos of me in the future!

So tell me, what was your first time being photographed like?

As the saying goes…

“Everything happens for a reason” OR “There’s a reason for everything”

I strongly believe in these sayings. There are times when I can’t seem to find the meaning or the reason why things/events happen in my life, but I also believe that I don’t always have to.¬† This winter storm hitting the north east is an event that is helping to keep my husband home for a few more days.¬† Prior to his arrival home from NY, he was told by his boss that he wouldn’t be able to get the week off even after it was approved.¬† So, there is my silver lining in the wake of this crazy storm (sorry to all those who are out there on that side of our country).

On another note, my journey for becoming a blogger & possibly a “style blogger” is starting to become more of a reality.¬† This past Christmas my husband bought me my first DSLR camera, perfect for beginner photographers; my Instagram account that I started last year of my daily #ootd is slowly but surely gaining more followers; and I finally took the 1st step to start my own blog.¬† See…everything happens for a reason!

Stay tuned for my first “Post It Tuesday” tomorrow!

Blessings x Love
