So, I realize that I never posted any photos of my weekend getaway with my Mr. to Boston. I assure you there were a ton of photos taken, but I’ve been procrastinating on downloading them to my laptop..I know, I know there really isn’t an excuse especially since I am on vacation. I figure I could just upload a few of my favorites from my summer break once I get back home to AZ. If you’re following me on Instagram you can see a few daily pics from my summer vacay so far.
Tonight the Mr. and I are heading to Canada!! He had to work today, so I had to do the laundry and packing. I’m so excited to finally see Niagara Falls. It’s one of the many sites on my long list of “places to see.” The Mr. has never been to Canada, so I’m even more excited that he’ll be able to
scratch it off his list 😉 I went to Montreal last year with my bestie, so I have been to CAN.
Anyway, today is also my parents 39th wedding anniversary! I am beyond blessed to have parents that have lasted this long and have stayed faithful to the vows they made to each other on June 26, 1976. My parents are the reason I believe in love and in marriage. They have set the example for me and my sisters. They have shown us that a marriage takes hard work, dedication, communication, faith, trust, patience, understanding, laughter and most of all LOVE. My prayer is that my Mr. and I can follow their lead (as well as my mother/father in-law) to one day be able to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary and more!
And if you haven’t heard, today is also a day that will be marked in history books. America has officially made it legal for same sex marriages. #loveislove #lovewins
Today the Mr. and I are going to explore Boston. Neither one of us have ever been there and we’re exciting about this short weekend trip!
Unlike our impromptu day trip to Lake George, where I left our camera at the hotel, I fully intend to bring (it’s already packed) our Nikon. Hopefully I (we) can get some nice photos of our time there.
My mom used to always tell my sisters and I to travel and see as much of the world as we can. Being that I was an Army brat, I grew up in several different places, but because of that I was able to see and travel to places many people don’t get to see.
One of my goals in life is to continue to travel and try to see as many different places as I can. So, today it’s Boston. Next weekend will hopefully be Niagara Falls and Canada!
Stay tuned for our photos! If you have any suggestions on where to go, what to do, what to see, where to eat please let us know!!
It’s been way too long since I’ve posted. The end of a school year always takes up majority of my time and I rarely have time to take on anything else. Trying to end a school year, move classrooms, and spending time with family I couldn’t find a balance and something had to give. Unfortunately it was my blog.
Now that summer break is here I can start to post again. I’m currently in New York spending my summer with my Mr. We’ve been apart since October and I wanted to take advantage of my time off. Not to mention, escape from the heat of the valley of the sun! Don’t get me wrong, I love my city…but being able to get away from 100+ degree weather isn’t such a bad thing.
I’ve been here for a week now. The Mr. and I are trying to strategically plan out our weekends since it’s really the only time he has off. On a whim, we went to Lake George yesterday. We originally planned to go to Saratoga Springs (mainly because I love that little town), but we decided to go further north and check out the lake.
The Mr. heard it was a great place to check out, and we couldn’t agree more. Lake George was beautiful! If you’re ever in upstate NY and get a chance to visit, you should. We weren’t prepared for a day at the lake and couldn’t partake in laying out on the beach or taking a dip in the water, but we enjoyed a steamboat cruise and learned some fun facts about Lake George and the gorgeous lake houses that surround it.
Here are some pictures I captured on my iPhone 6. I failed to bring my Nikon (I regret that big time)! Hope you enjoy.

I’m finally back home to the sunny skies and warm weather of Arizona!
My New York trip/mini vacation was fun and adventurous. My younger sisters enjoyed themselves, but they were definitely worn out by day 2 of walking around NYC haha. Since it was my second time around, I knew what to expect and I wasn’t suffering as much as they were. Poor things. But, they survived and in the end were glad they got to see and experience “The Big Apple.”
I won’t flood you with the hundreds of photos I took while we went from Albany, to New Jersey, to NYC. Instead, I’ll leave you with a few of my favorites. These were all taken with my Samsung Galaxy S5, because I forgot the battery charger to my Nikon 😦
Anyway, hope you enjoy and have a lovely weekend!

I’m in NYC!
I’m spending the weekend here in the city with my Mr. & two of my sisters. It’s their first time ever visiting and experiencing the city, so they’re super excited and I’m stoked to be back! I know it may sound a little crazy leaving the warm sunny weather of AZ to come to the cold and possibly rainy weather here in NY, but it’s all worth it to spend QT with my Mr. and celebrate my youngest sister’s 24th birthday here.
So, while I’m being a complete tourist and trying to snap away- here’s the 1st photo of our visit for Photo Friday. I’m totally bummed out that I forgot my camera charger at home, which means the only photos I’ll be taking this weekend will be on my Samsung Galaxy S5. I hope they turn out okay *fingers crossed*
Have a lovely weekend!

You know the saying, “time flies by…when you’re having fun?” Well, time also flies by when you’re a busy woman with a full-time job as a teacher trying to finish up the end of a quarter! So, I apologize for pretty much falling off the face of the blogging planet, if anyone actually cares/noticed.
Yesterday was my first official day of spring break! Many things/events have gone on since my last post, so today I’m trying to play catch-up. The most exciting event that currently took place in my life was attending my first blogger panel discussion. The panel discussion was open to new bloggers and/or bloggers seeking advice on how to grow their following. I was super nervous and excited all at the same time. I’m so glad I went because I met some really supportive and lovely ladies, as well as learn how some of the most well known bloggers in Arizona juggle the blogging life! I learned some really helpful tips and hope that I can soon start to implement them into my experience with blogging.
Anyway, I’m off to go and pack for a week in NY again! I know, I know…why would anyone in their right mind leave a state with temperatures in the mid 80’s to go to a state of temperatures in the mid 40-50’s?! One reason: My Mr. He’s still out there for work, and instead of spending my spring break alone enjoying the sunny, warm, AZ weather I’m choosing to spend some much needed QT with my Mr.! That’s the secret to our marriage 🙂
I’m hoping I can snap some really great photos with my new Nikon and share them with you all! For now, I’m posting my ootd’s from my Instagram. Follow me on Instagram to find out where my outifits are from! https://instagram.com/thispetitelife/ OR search my Instagram @thispetitelife
“Monday on a Tuesday” was the caption for my ootd today on Instagram, because today was so much like a Monday. Yesterday was President’s Day, and while the rest of the fashion world was shopping some great deals & sales I was on my way back from Albany, NY. It’s a whole day’s trip going from AZ to NY…but so worth it to spend QT with my Mr.!
Lucky for me I wasn’t too jet-lagged at work today, but I’m not gonna lie and say it was easy getting up this morning. It’s a good thing I already had my outfit picked out for the day. A HUGE benefit of choosing your ootd the night before is not having to think about “what should I wear today” and wasting precious time that could be spent on hair, make-up, drinking coffee/tea, eating breakfast, or any of your other morning routines. Plus, I was happy knowing it really wasn’t Monday and since I missed posting last week’s Post-it Tuesday I made sure I didn’t miss today.
So, tell me, do you plan your outfits the night/week before?
