The Longest Hiatus Ever

When I started this blog I really didn’t have a specific direction that I was going to take it. I wasn’t sure if I could even successfully keep up with a blog, and I guess I was right.

It’s been years since I’ve posted, however I thought about my blog every day and all the things I could’ve posted about. So now, let’s rewind the last 2 years <<<

At the end of 2015, my Mr. & I bought a house! We had been renting a house prior to that for almost two years. Owning your own home is like nothing else. It makes being an adult more real ha!

But 2016 was one of THE most special years of my life. My Mr. & I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary AND became parents to the most handsome son ever {a biased opinion, I know}! In November of  2015, we finally decided to take the steps to see fertility doctors because we weren’t conceiving and I had been off BC since 2009. When everything checked out with me, all we needed to do was get the Mr. checked. Well that became a difficult task since he had to continue to travel for work out of state. Things weren’t looking good for us at that point, but we stayed hopeful and continued to have faith that God would bless us when the time was right.

Our faith helped us get through a difficult time with the loss of my Mr.’s stepdad in March. And in late April, I found out I was 3+ weeks pregnant! I was lucky that my pregnancy wasn’t hard at all. From the 1st trimester all the way to my delivery-everything went well with no complications. We were blessed with a health baby boy on December 13, 2016 and our lives were changed forever! Elias has brought nothing but pure joy & love to our family’s life.

It’s now the middle of 2017, I’m on summer break and enjoying every minute of being home with my SONshine (my mom was watching him when I returned to work from maternity leave). I don’t have the luxury of being a SAHM, so I will be back to teaching next month. I will now be a 2nd grade teacher and teammates with one of my closest friends! We are so excited to be back together again. I have also decided to take a {HUGE} risk and become a Lipsense Distributor with Senegence. More on this topic later.

For now, these have been the biggest & most memorable {milestone} changes that have taken place in my life in the past 2 years. My goal for 2017 is to continue to work on my blog, grow my business, explore new opportunities & live in each moment with my family!

Wish me luck!

With Blessings & Love,

The Secret is Dedication

On this day 9 years ago my Mr. and I received the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony! We said our vows standing up at the alter in front of our family and friends, and most importantly God.
We have been surrounded our entire lives by our grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. that have shown us by example what it looks like, and sounds like, and what it means to have a lasting marriage. We have learned by watching our family that a marriage takes DEDICATION. In my opinion, that’s the “secret” behind a lasting and healthy marriage. I wouldn’t say a “good” marriage, because every marriage will go through its share of peaks and valleys.

Dedication to keep my vows, dedication to keep my commitment, dedication to keep growing, dedication to have patience when needed, dedication to have trust, dedication to communicate openly and honestly, dedication to support each other in all that we do, dedication to stay the best of friends, dedication to work at loving one another unconditionally, and dedication to keep God at the forefront of our marriage; that’s what has kept our marriage going for 9 years.

Just like anything else in life, it takes hard work to keep a lasting & happy marriage. Nothing worth having/doing comes easy. I am beyond grateful that I have a husband who is willing to work hard and stay dedicated to US, our marriage, our journey in life, our ups and our downs. Both people {in any relationship} share an equal part at balancing the load it takes to make it all worth it!

These past 9 years have been nothing but amazing, and as each day goes by I love my Mr. more and more. I can’t wait to see what God has already planned for us in this life!

Lilly Pulitzer for Target

You may be shocked by this, but I wasn’t one of the many women who woke up early to head to Target and snatch whatever I could get my hands on from Lilly Pulitzer.  You may ask…Why? How? What’s wrong with you?

My response to that question is to answer with a question.  Was this event a life or death situation? Would my life have ended if I didn’t go? For me, it wasn’t life or death and my life wouldn’t have come to an end because I didn’t make it there.

Was I curious about what would be there and if I actually would have been able to get anything? Yes, of course. But this weekend my parents, sisters and God mother came up to visit and spending time with them is more meaningful than standing in a line and waiting to spend my money on a few pieces that just about every other fashion blogger would be featuring. So, while I won’t be posting any Lilly Pulitzer clothes, shoes, accessories, home decor on my blog, I know I won’t regret my decision to stay home.

Family time has always been the most important aspect of my life and I know life isn’t over for me because I missed out on this event 🙂

Easter Joy!

Easter has always been a special time in my life. My faith in the Lord was instilled in me at a very young age and still continues. I’m so thankful that This Is the Day the Lord has made – Let us rejoice and be glad!

My prayer, my wish, my hope for you and your family is that you may be blessed on this day and all the days of your life!

Time for me to go and enjoy this special day with the ones that mean and matter the most to me!

Photo Friday – Recap of NY

I’m finally back home to the sunny skies and warm weather of Arizona!

My New York trip/mini vacation was fun and adventurous. My younger sisters enjoyed themselves, but they were definitely worn out by day 2 of walking around NYC haha. Since it was my second time around, I knew what to expect and I wasn’t  suffering as much as they were. Poor things. But, they survived and in the end were glad they got to see and experience “The Big Apple.”

I won’t flood you with the hundreds of photos I took while we went from Albany, to New Jersey, to NYC. Instead, I’ll leave you with a few of my favorites. These were all taken with my Samsung Galaxy S5, because I forgot the battery charger to my Nikon 😦

Anyway, hope you enjoy and have a lovely weekend!

New York City – Photo Friday

I’m in NYC!

I’m spending the weekend here in the city with my Mr. & two of my sisters. It’s their first time ever visiting and experiencing the city, so they’re super excited and I’m stoked to be back! I know it may sound a little crazy leaving the warm sunny weather of AZ to come to the cold and possibly rainy weather here in NY, but it’s all worth it to spend QT with my Mr. and celebrate my youngest sister’s 24th birthday here.

So, while I’m being a complete tourist and trying to snap away- here’s the 1st photo of our visit for Photo Friday. I’m totally bummed out that I forgot my camera charger at home, which means the only photos I’ll be taking this weekend will be on my Samsung Galaxy S5. I hope they turn out okay *fingers crossed*

Have a lovely weekend!

Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona

What a fun-filled weekend for the state of Arizona, but most of all for the city of Phoenix!  We were lucky enough to host the Championship of America’s favorite game for the second time since the opening of our gorgeous stadium {Go Cards!}  The entire “valley of the sun” was the place to be this weekend, and I was able to experience just a small taste of it.

I went late Saturday night with two of my sisters & our cousin to explore how they transformed the city of downtown Phoenix into the Super Bowl mecca.  Congratulations to the New England Patriots on taking home the Vince Lombardi Trophy yet again! I don’t want to even get started on the AMAZING half-time show that Katy Perry put on or we’d be here all night haha!  She ROCKED and so did Lenny Kravitz & Missy Elliot (I’ve been a huge fan of her ever since she came out).  Anyway, enjoy a few of my pics from downtown Phoenix taken with my Samsung Galaxy S5.

Thank you NFL for choosing The University of Phoenix Stadium to host the XLIX Super Bowl!!!
