There’s a first time for everything

Do you have “firsts” more often times than not? If so, you’re certainly living life like it’s an adventure. At least that’s how I see it 🙂

Today I had one of those firsts. I had my very first photo shoot as a “blogger.”  I can’t necessarily call myself a “fashion blogger” since I don’t post about only on fashion or what I’m wearing. I don’t even know if that’s exactly where I want this blog to go, but if it happens then I’m open to that idea too.

I felt a little out of place while I was getting my photos taken by a complete stranger. It was the first time a photographer reached out to me asking if I’d like to take some photos. She’s a new photographer and is needing to add more to her portfolio, so I guess we’re both helping each other out.

After my second outfit change, I felt a tad bit more comfortable. Although I can honestly say–I don’t know how these beautiful fashion bloggers do it. I guess it takes time, and some may have just been a “natural” at it, but I know one thing’s for sure…if I plan on continuing this fashion blogging journey I’m going to need A LOT more practice! Can we even call it that? Practice? I’m not sure, but there are many things I’m not sure about when it comes to this world of blogging.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I was able to get at least one good shot of my two outfits so I can post them here. If not, I’ll keep trying 🙂 The only way to succeed is to never give up and accept failure.

Photo Friday

Yesterday was such a long & busy day that I didn’t even have time to “make time” to post.  But if you’re wondering how my first yoga class went…it was EXACTLY what I needed! From the moment I started, all the way until the last breath, it was complete relaxation.  I’ve already signed up for another class next week.  Let’s just say…I’m hooked! Haha.

Now, on to the title of this post.  PHOTO FRIDAYS.  Just another idea I came up with that I’d like to keep as a tradition for my blog. I’m going to put this disclaimer out there right now– I am NOT a photographer, but I would love to become a  photographer someday.  I have always enjoyed taking pictures, mostly of mother nature and the beauty she brings to life.  My Mr. (husband) bought me a pretty decent camera years ago and that’s when I started to take more interest in capturing moments of special events & the people in my life. I’ve decided to share a photo or two of my favorite pictures that I have taken over the years.  There will be some photos that I have taken with my camera phone (iPhone & Samsung) and other photos will be from my Sony camera.  My Mr. just bought me a Nikon D3300 that I am beyond thrilled about and can’t wait to start playing with! But for now, and until I can figure out my new camera, I hope you enjoy some of my old photos on the very first…PHOTO FRIDAY!

If you’re an aspiring photographer like me, or an actual photographer, I’d love to hear from you and see some of your work.

This is one of the many white sand beaches on the beautiful island of Guam, a place I call Home.

This is the same beach looking out into the warm, crystal clear waters of the Pacific Ocean.  Don’t you just want to jump right in?! Absolutely breathtaking!!

*These photos have not been edited or retouched in any way. Mother nature at her best. 🙂 Both photos were taken with my iPhone 4s.

I’m just a beginner

We all start somewhere, at the bottom, as a beginner.

That’s exactly how I’m going to feel tomorrow at my very first yoga class.  I’ve been wanting to take a yoga class for a long time now, and have even tried it out with one of those home workout videos (complete fail by the way).  I gathered up enough courage to throw myself out there and sign up for a class. I won’t be going alone though…I don’t have that much courage, haha!

Our school’s music teacher sent out an email to the entire staff inquiring if anyone knew of a good place to take a yoga class. It took me a while, but I responded by saying “No, but I’m willing to give it a try with you!” She was more than happy to know there was someone else out there that has never tried yoga and was ready to embark on a new adventure with her. We’re both just trying to release some stress, do something good for ourselves, and get healthy. So, we found a great deal on Groupon (gotta love Groupon), and we are now signed up and pumped for our first class. I’ll let you know how it goes & if we’ll be sticking it out or not.

So, do you practice yoga and if so, how do you like it?

Sorry no #ootd today. I wore my staff jersey & jeans to work since we had our staff pictures today.
