Photo Friday

Yesterday was such a long & busy day that I didn’t even have time to “make time” to post.  But if you’re wondering how my first yoga class went…it was EXACTLY what I needed! From the moment I started, all the way until the last breath, it was complete relaxation.  I’ve already signed up for another class next week.  Let’s just say…I’m hooked! Haha.

Now, on to the title of this post.  PHOTO FRIDAYS.  Just another idea I came up with that I’d like to keep as a tradition for my blog. I’m going to put this disclaimer out there right now– I am NOT a photographer, but I would love to become a  photographer someday.  I have always enjoyed taking pictures, mostly of mother nature and the beauty she brings to life.  My Mr. (husband) bought me a pretty decent camera years ago and that’s when I started to take more interest in capturing moments of special events & the people in my life. I’ve decided to share a photo or two of my favorite pictures that I have taken over the years.  There will be some photos that I have taken with my camera phone (iPhone & Samsung) and other photos will be from my Sony camera.  My Mr. just bought me a Nikon D3300 that I am beyond thrilled about and can’t wait to start playing with! But for now, and until I can figure out my new camera, I hope you enjoy some of my old photos on the very first…PHOTO FRIDAY!

If you’re an aspiring photographer like me, or an actual photographer, I’d love to hear from you and see some of your work.

This is the same beach looking out into the warm, crystal clear waters of the Pacific Ocean.  Don’t you just want to jump right in?! Absolutely breathtaking!!

*These photos have not been edited or retouched in any way. Mother nature at her best. 🙂 Both photos were taken with my iPhone 4s.

I’m just a beginner

We all start somewhere, at the bottom, as a beginner.

That’s exactly how I’m going to feel tomorrow at my very first yoga class.  I’ve been wanting to take a yoga class for a long time now, and have even tried it out with one of those home workout videos (complete fail by the way).  I gathered up enough courage to throw myself out there and sign up for a class. I won’t be going alone though…I don’t have that much courage, haha!

Our school’s music teacher sent out an email to the entire staff inquiring if anyone knew of a good place to take a yoga class. It took me a while, but I responded by saying “No, but I’m willing to give it a try with you!” She was more than happy to know there was someone else out there that has never tried yoga and was ready to embark on a new adventure with her. We’re both just trying to release some stress, do something good for ourselves, and get healthy. So, we found a great deal on Groupon (gotta love Groupon), and we are now signed up and pumped for our first class. I’ll let you know how it goes & if we’ll be sticking it out or not.

So, do you practice yoga and if so, how do you like it?

Sorry no #ootd today. I wore my staff jersey & jeans to work since we had our staff pictures today.

Post It Tuesday

So today was my very first “Post It Tuesday.” I wanted to start Post-it Tuesdays to brighten up someone else’s day. All you need is a post-it, a pen and a few simple words of happiness, encouragement, inspiration, or even a quote. This simple random act can ultimately change someone else’s day around! Post-it notes are extremely easy to come by since I’m a teacher, but they’re fairly cheap at any store too. I’d like to invite you to join me next week for Post It Tuesday! Share with me what you wrote on your post-it note. Here are pics of my first two post-it notes.

I left this one on our music teachers computer after she left unexpectedly during the day.

I put this post-it in one of our staff bathrooms on the mirror.

Simple, right?! 😉

And, of course I can’t leave without posting my #ootd

As the saying goes…

“Everything happens for a reason” OR “There’s a reason for everything”

I strongly believe in these sayings. There are times when I can’t seem to find the meaning or the reason why things/events happen in my life, but I also believe that I don’t always have to.  This winter storm hitting the north east is an event that is helping to keep my husband home for a few more days.  Prior to his arrival home from NY, he was told by his boss that he wouldn’t be able to get the week off even after it was approved.  So, there is my silver lining in the wake of this crazy storm (sorry to all those who are out there on that side of our country).

On another note, my journey for becoming a blogger & possibly a “style blogger” is starting to become more of a reality.  This past Christmas my husband bought me my first DSLR camera, perfect for beginner photographers; my Instagram account that I started last year of my daily #ootd is slowly but surely gaining more followers; and I finally took the 1st step to start my own blog.  See…everything happens for a reason!

Stay tuned for my first “Post It Tuesday” tomorrow!

A New Journey

So, here it is. My very first blog entry. I’m stepping into an unknown world that is already filled with millions of people all wanting to achieve the same thing. We all just want to be heard, to be seen, to be noticed in this great big world of ours.

Welcome to this petite life of mine. I’m not sure what will become of this blog, or where it’ll take me. However, I do know that there are aspects of this life of mine that I am willing to share with the blogging world. I know there will be many highs, many lows, many supporters, and many naysayers that I am going to encounter on this journey. But isn’t that what makes the world of blogging such an addictive place to be?

This is a huge world and I’m just one petite woman living in it.
